The Director of Fire Services, Mr Lo Chun-hung, today (May 9) congratulated 131 graduates at a passing-out parade for becoming members of the Fire Services Department.
While inspecting the passing-out parade, Mr Lo encouraged the graduates to better equip themselves through continuous learning in order to provide quality services to meet changing public demands.
He said that the department had provided advanced training in various areas for members to enhance their skills and capabilities. These include special rescue training, mountain rescue training, high-angle rescue training, deep dive training, incident command training and paramedic training.
The graduates, comprising 13 station officers, 53 firemen and 65 ambulancemen, have gone through a stringent, 26-week basic training course and passed the test. They will be posted to various fire stations and ambulance depots to undergo on-the-job training to gain field experience.
