Cathay Pacific Airways is featuring a variety of its “Cathay Pacific Signature Dishes” on flights this year, bringing Hong Kong passengers a true taste of home as they enjoy classic local dishes during their journeys, and at the same introducing authentic flavours from the airline's home city to passengers from around the world.
Starting early this year, Cathay Pacific Signature Dishes has been introducing phase by phase a selection of local Hong Kong favourites that are truly authentic in taste and appearance, including congee, hot pot rice, noodle soups and Chinese desserts. The signature dishes are being served in rotation throughout the year in First and Business Class cabins.

Japanese coffee shop, Okada Coffee Limited (Okada Coffee), announced September 9 the opening of its first overseas outlet in Hong Kong.
With a long and rich history, Okada Coffee started business in Japan 64 years ago, and its corporate mission today remains the same as it did then – to bring happiness to its customers through delivering the genuine taste of coffee. Unlike the popular, modern day methods of coffee production, Okada Coffee uses only the best coffee beans and for some blends can combine up to seven different beans – including the rarely used Jamaican bean – in order to produce the optimum taste for customers.

Saizeriya Italian Restaurant Group, an Italian family-style restaurant chain originating from Chiba, Japan announced the opening of its second outlet in Hong Kong April 10. The well-known Japanese casual dining concept opened its first outlet in Hong Kong in November 2008, and plans to open a further 50 restaurants within the next five years.

To celebrate Hong Kong as Asia's culinary capital, a "cook off" event presented by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) in Canada, and co-hosted by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and the Metropolitan Hotels, will be held this Friday (November 7) at the Toronto Metropolitan Hotel's Mandarin Ballroom.
