Located at Chek Lap Kok is world's best and most modern airport start servicing visitors since 1998 to replace the Kai Tak International Airport at Kowloon Bay. It is the main entry point to Hong Kong, Asia's world city, and also being the visitors' gateway to China and the rest of Asia. Hong Kong have a most convenient transportation system in the world, getting to and from Hong Kong International Airport is easy, convenient and inexpensive.

 

- Rail

The Mass Transit Railway (MTR) Airport Express is the fastest way between downtown areas and the airport, covering the 35.3 km between the Hong Kong International Airport and Central about 24 minutes. Fares and operating hours

 

 

- Buses

There are nine Airbus route with airport bus"A" that take visitors to major locations in downtown. Fares range between HK$14 and HK$45. Ordinary city bus "E" also available with cheaper price but more stops

 

 

 

- Taxi

Available from taxi pick-up area in front of the Arrival Halls. All fares are metered and there are fare details inside each cab. Taxis come in different colors to indicate the area of service and all can go to and from Hong Kong International Airport:

 

    - Red taxis operate at Hong Kong Island and Kowloon with HK$15 for first 2km and HK$1.4 for every additional 200 meters / Every one minute waiting time;
    - Green taxis operate at New Territories area with HK$12.5 for first 2km and HK$1.2 for every additional 200 meters / Every one minute waiting time;
    - Blue taxis operate at Lantau Island with HK$12 for first 2km and HK$1.2 for every additional 200 meters / Every one minute waiting time

Addtional charge is needed like Cross Harbour Tunnel (with return roll) between HK$3 and HK$50, each baggage for HK$5. Details fares please click here.

 

- Ferries

There is also a Ferry from Tung Chung New Development Pier at Chek Lap Kok to Tuen Mun in New Territories. It operates 6am - 11pm daily. Details schedule and fare please click here.

All passengers age with 12 or above must pay a HK$120 for Depature Tax and security charge HK$33 which is normally included in the price of the airline ticket. However, passengers who arrive and depart the same day from Hong Kong are exempt from the tax.
